Why choose Telos Travel as your travel professional?

Overwhelmed by the number of options out there? Gotten stuck down the Google rabbit hole? Not sure who to trust or where to book? Or simply just don’t have the time to plan your own trip?

That’s where I come in!

The Basics

Travel Agent vs. Travel Advisor: What the heck is the difference?

While the two terms are used by the general public pretty interchangeably, it’s important to know that they mean two very different things. Travel agents are typically people acting as order takers for a hotel or airline directly. You call, tell them what you want, and they book it for you. Agents do still exist, however, most travel planners out there refer to themselves as advisors or designers. While we do book your hotel and flights, we also co-collaborate with you on choosing a destination for the season you are traveling, picking what part of the city to stay in because it’s close to the museums you like, suggesting the best restaurants in town that fit your dietary needs, and so much more. I want your experience to be so much more than just a transaction.

How do you make money?

In addition to our one-time planning fees, hotels/cruises/resorts build in a commission to their pricing even if you don't use an advisor. By booking through us, you receive all of our exclusive benefits, and we receive a commission from the vendor for giving them business. This commission comes at no cost to you and because of our partnerships, we often receive preferred rates and availability - and you get treated like a VIP!

Curious about the process?

Click here to see what you can expect! Every custom trip I plan will include an online itinerary, accessible on the computer, via mobile app, or PDF. This itinerary will be your one-stop shop for all of your confirmation documents, schedule, points of interest, restaurant recommendations, and destination information including currency and tipping suggestions, as well as any COVID requirements (but let’s hope we won’t need those!).

Standing at the top of Table Mountain - Cape Town, South Africa

The beauty of travel, and one of the things that makes it so exciting, is that it’s always changing. Between keeping up with hot travel trends, new resort openings, and constantly changing government regulations, staying up to date is a full-time job - but it shouldn’t have to be your job! By using a travel advisor, you're leveraging the expertise of a professional just like you would a financial planner or interior designer. Your time is valuable - allow me to do the heavy lifting for you and create transformative travel memories for you and your family.

By choosing to utilize my services, you’re choosing a travel partner who will ensure you’re getting the best value, service, and experiences available. I pride myself on becoming an expert in you, so that I can connect you with my best in-country partners across the globe who fit your wants and needs. As a proud member of Virtuoso and an affiliate of Avenue Two Travel, we can provide you with access to thousands of the best luxury hotels, cruise lines, and tour companies in the world! Our partnerships allow us to provide you with insider access and exclusive benefits like room upgrades, free breakfast, spa credits, and more at no additional cost to you.

Even though no one person can be an expert in every destination, I’m always looking for training opportunities for the destinations and experiences my clients are interested in. Meetings with hotel partners, visiting destinations, and attending webinars are all different ways I’m able to make sure that you are getting the best of the best!
